Description
Children’s Cardiology, a subsidiary of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is comprised of more than 60 pediatric cardiologists providing comprehensive services for patients from before birth to age 21 who have acquired or congenital heart disease. The Cardiac Sonographer will perform and report on and effectively identify cardiac and other physiologic anomalies. This position will be assisting with other modalities in clinic.
***Outpatient setting; 36 hours per week***
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform pediatric and fetal echocardiogram imaging studies (per IAC standards).
Provide accurate reporting of imaging documentation to assist physicians in identifying cardiac and other physiologic anomalies.
Assist with performing EKGs and monitor placement for patients (Holter Monitors, Events).
Initiate preventive maintenance and works with department manager to resolve equipment concerns.
Maintain supply inventory to ensure availability for patient care.
Operate all Cardiac sonography equipment according to quality and department specifications. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Required Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Sonography, Cardiovascular technology, nursing or other allied health program.
Minimum of two years of cardiac sonography experience; pediatric/fetal experience preferred.
Graduate of a cardiac ultrasound program, prefer CAAHEP accredited.
ARDMS registered or registry eligible or registered as RCS or RCCS by CCI. Note: If not registered, Pediatric echo registry exam to be taken within two years of employment.
BLS certification required.
Ability to work flexible schedule including local travel to other clinical locations as needed; this may include hospital rotation coverage after required training.
Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills and follow-through discipline.
